A gender filter for the web -- now in beta

👋 Hi! We're releasing some unique search engines this year to celebrate Women's History Month!
💃 This third and final release is a gender filter for focusing search results on pages that contain more women-related content. The tabs in the results can be used to increasingly filter out any male-related content, e.g., to make it easier to find news articles related to women in your industry, etc.
🔎 The gender filter is particularly helpful for filtering searches on a specific site, e.g., social media, music, etc., along with topics where there's gender overlap in coverage of golf, tennis, etc. Please let us know which use cases work best for you & we'll add that to the next release of our gender filter!
📜 The first release this month was an earlier version of this release specific to Wikipedia, which we dubbed Ladypedia. The second release illustrated creating a safe space online, or what we dubbed a digital island, which in that case was about redacting search results associated with a recent relationship for her and her fans.
💡 We'll integrate a more tested version of this gender filter with our primary search experience in the future. Specifically, we're adding filters to our web, news, blog, and topic searches, to reduce search result bias in any form, such as age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.
📫 Please contact us about using filters for reducing bias in search results, creating digital safe spaces, or to explore these filters further in your classroom, cultural center, or workplace.
